Privacy Policy

RoboDIB ("we", "us", "our") is operated by RoboDIB, BTM Layout, Bangalore, India. This policy explains what data we collect when you use robodib.com, how we use it, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA).

1. Data we collect

Account data: Email address, display name, and optional mobile number when you create an account via OTP sign-in.

Inventory data: Component names, quantities, descriptions, prices, and locations you add to your inventory.

Location data: If you publish a map listing, we store the approximate location (city/area) you provide. Precise GPS coordinates are only used if you explicitly enable location sharing.

Transaction data: Order history, payment confirmation references (we do not store card numbers or UPI credentials).

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and error logs. We use this to improve the platform.

2. How we use your data

To provide, operate, and improve the RoboDIB platform
To send order confirmations, OTP codes, and service notifications
To send the newsletter (only if you subscribed)
To enable P2P component requests between verified users
To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data sharing

We share data only with:

Payment processors (Razorpay/Stripe) — to process orders. They have their own privacy policies.
Email service providers — to send transactional and newsletter emails.
Cloud hosting providers — our infrastructure runs on servers within India/Singapore.
Law enforcement — only when legally required.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Inventory data is retained until you delete it or close your account. Logs are retained for 90 days. You can request deletion at any time (see section 6).

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDPA 2023, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data ("right to erasure")
Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., newsletter)
Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf

7. Security

We use TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, and session tokens that expire automatically. For details, see our Security page.

8. Children

RoboDIB is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us immediately at [email protected].

9. Changes to this policy

We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. The latest version is always at robodib.com/privacy.
